Engineering and architecture, under one studio

Opera Studio Lda, incorporated in 2023, was founded by the partners and technical staff of the engineering and construction firm "Genera Lda", bringing together over 30 years of combined experience in specialist engineering design. Since 2007, Genera has also delivered architectural design services for residential and commercial buildings.

Opera Studio currently focuses on public works projects in housing and infrastructure across Portugal and the European Union, with particular emphasis on the architectural, structural and energy retrofit of existing buildings.

We work exclusively to BIM Level 2 methodologies and are currently undergoing ISO 19650 certification.

Sustainability is embedded in our design development process and in the solutions we deliver.

We have several projects pending approval under the EU Modernisation Fund, all with a cost-effectiveness ratio below €200 per tonne of CO₂ emissions avoided.

In November 2026 we will return to The Big 5 Global (UAE) to consolidate strategic partnerships for contemporary architecture and engineering projects.

Opera Studio will open a branch office in Riyadh in Q1 2027, providing Archicad BIM architectural design and MEP/HVAC engineering services for Qiddiya, Red Sea Global and ROSHN. We have a proven track record on large-scale projects, including Rio 2016 (sports venues) and the city of Soyo with Angola LNG (a certified carbon-credit project).
